Skimmer

If you had to chose from SEACLONE 100 skimmer or the RED SEA PRIZM. Which one would you pick or in other words which one is a better skimmer?

I've had both and quite honestly I didn't care for either one. If I had to choose I would choose the prizm. You may want to look into the aqua C remora. I have a remora pro which I believe is just a bigger version and it works well. HTH

depends greatly on the tank size. I wouldn't put the prizm on anything bigger than 20-30g, and the sea clone could handle something bigger 40g-75g. I use a sea clone on my 50g and it does an OK job. I hated it as a HOB skimmer though as it is large and intrusive on such a small tank so I put mine in the sump

Prizm is a pain in the ass, but it does work effeciently I think. Just as long as you don't try it on a huge tank or anything. As long as it is on say 55 gal or less it should work just fine.

Hey Tony D, what makes the prism a pain? Thinking of buying one.

I can tell you why its a pain in the ass. The cup on the top is so small and its hard to regulate the flow to avoid wate into the cup...
Its a 2 a day empty as opposed to a 1 a day or 1 every 2 days...
Thats my opinion

It's hard to dial in, but likewise any skimmer is somewhat a pain to dial in.
Once dialed in they are a good skimmer though. The seaclones are garbage, just overadvertised to make them look like they're actually a good skimmer. I'd buy the prizm if I were you.
