skimmer ?

Do you want wet or dry foam from the skimmer. If I raise the cup on my skimmer I really don't get any foam. If I lower it the wet foam will fill the cup quickly, in a day. The skimmer I am running I the AquaC Remora. Any feedback would be grea.t

Sorry, I'm not able to help you but I've been wanting to know about the remora skimmer. Is it any good? Noisy? About how much does it go for? How long have you had it and is it working as good as the first day you had it? Any help would be great, Thanks.

As far as I can tell it works great. The Remora Pro is the one I have and it is rated by their website for tanks 75 to 100gal. It is very quiet. It is a HOB skimmer but I have it mounted under the tank on my sump. Wait to see what some of the response is about the foam. I purchased it used along with another skimmer that I am not using. I gave $20 for the skimmer and prefilterbox. E-mail me and I will give you a couple of websites to check them out.

as long as the product that is in the cup is a dark brown or greenish color, the skimmer is working....I have never heard of Dry or wet foam.

From what I can tell dry foam will be darker in color and thicker. Wet foam will be lighter in color and will be more like water. My skimmer's manual takes about raising and lowering the cup to get wetter or dryer foam. My question is which is most desirable.

dry foam. You want it to take out the dark crap. It is dark because it has more of the waste in the cup.

I have the AquaC Urchin pro -- in-sump version of the remora pro. Like what was staed just before, you want "dry" foam as AquaC describes it. Start the cup, I am assuming you have the black o-ring around the collection cup to level it, at it highesdt point and lower it slowly until you get a slwo build up of foam. Keep an eye on it, it takes the remora a few days to calibrate itself.
