I have a yellow-head sand sifting goby, and he hasn't been sifting the sand so much... he seems to me like he's getting skinny. Is there somehting that I can add to the tank that he might like? I feed my tank cyclopeez, and he seems to eat some of that but not alot. any ideas?

WEll they eat just about anything but make sure you give him some fatty food cause he might need it, i feed my firefishes mysis and regular little pellet food so you can feed them that. But make sure you feed him might want to go out ASAP and get some food.

You Could Feed Him Brine Shrimp Or Live Brine Shrimp, That's What I Use To Feed Mine When I Had One. They Would Love That.

Well, I went out and got some Nori, Pellet food and some Mysis... He's not eating anything. My f***ing yellow tail damsels are really stressing him out. I want night time to come so he can scavenge if he wants... I put a tupperware in the tank, hoping that he will go hide in it... to no avail as of yet. Keeping my fingers crossed.

Well im thinking that your damsel is killing his appetite due to him being stressed you know, imagine you sitting in a diner and some little kids start bugging you, you would want to leave after a period of times cause they keep bothering you, thats how i take it, so if it was "ME" i would take out the damsels cause i heard they can be a nuisance and tend to kill fish to defend territory. but thats just me Gobys are really delicate fish and peaceful so probrably shyed out on eating

That's what I did... I returned 2 of the 3 to the petstore. He seems to be resting better. I couldn't catch the 3rd - so hopefully, he'll be less agressive alone. I'll let you know how it goes! Thanks for all of your help!

Well, He made it through the night... his breathing is a bit quick, and I'm not sure if he has eaten. he really has no energy. Not quite sure what to do. He holds himself upright, but doesn't swim, doesn't turn etc. I really want to grab him and shove food in his mouth!

Well, it saddens me to say, poor goby's body was stuck to the filter intake. He was the best goby I ever had. Now all my clowns are bloated with mysis.

Man im so sorry for your loss but you should do some research on how to take care of one just in case you get a second one. GOOD LUCK ON YOUR NEXT FISH

Well, you would think that the LFS would ask me if I had food for it? Even as an upsale! but they didn't unfortunately. I want to get another though, he was really really cool.

Yea make sure you take out that last damsel cause there just the devil, evybody tells me there so cute and everything but I would NEVER put one in my tank. There such a nuisance to other fish and my fish are all peacefull fish so I dont want no brat swimming around bothering them. So try a second one and if hes about to die take him to the LFS.
