Hmmm, is this a double ended bulb or screw in? I think I have seen the site you bought your lights from, they have their info wrong.
If its 175 watt HQI (DE) where are you planning on getting replacement bulbs?

Sounds like the 175w bulbs are being ran by a 150/175w HQI ballast. A LN-150/175-02 ARO Electronic Ballast will run both!!

it is a double ended. i bought another one for the site where i got it for like 25 bucks. I plan on getting a better bulb, but i thought i would have a backup incase someone happened.
i tried posting a pic, but it says that it is too big.

It sounds to me like somebody has their numbers mixed up..Like I said, I've seen a site that sells this combo but their info is wrong, the bulbs are 150 watt bulbs.

I don't mean to get you confused but there are no 175 watt DE bulbs. The place you bought the system from might tell you that their 175 watt bulbs but thier not, unless their the SE (screw in)

I agree with golfish... currently no one makes a 175w DE bulb. Look around on different sites than the one you're referring to.

like I said if it is an odyssea it is a 150 w, I have seen this debate on other message boards, odyssea screwed up, its a 150W run off of a 150w ballast. I dont have the facts but I have heard them debated and the final outcome was 150 w, even though they say 175 and I have the same light and I slip and say 175 w, its confusing to say the least.

.......wow.... that is realy confusing......... if they screwed up you would think that they would ahve fixed it by now........ but it makes sence seeing how the 150 and the 175 models cost the same...... But i even ordered a 175 wattmetal halide DE bulb...... man....... im a wee bit pissed.... but whatever. :joy: thank you all for your help
