Smahing Live Rock

I'm thinking about taking some of my extra pieces of live rock and smashing the down to rubble. No its not a new anger management technique-I want to silicone the rubble onto the overflow cover of my tank. It's made o clear glass and I don't want the Durso pipe and return line to be seen. Just wondering what everyone thinks

try it and see how it looks. kinda expensive IMO, cause LR isn't cheap (atleast around here), but i don't see where it could hurt.

Don't use live rock unless you have extra lying around. Get some dry Tufa and use it. Inexpensive, porous, and will look like everything else when covered with coralline.

I totally agree about it being expensive. I would'nt even of considered it except that i have a 50 gal tote full of it in the basement. My wife would be very happy to have it off of her stationary tub (not to mention using up her outlets by the laundry)

IMO I say do like in my background on my tank. Look at pics. This stuff wil stick to plastic or glass no need to use egg crate like i did.

Thank you. That means a lot. LOL i took a lot of Crap when i showed people what i did but it really is very safe. You just have to make sure it cures correctly. I posted it on here when i first did it and got yelled at a few times but its been quite some time and everything is going strong. Its very popular in europe right now. Its rather cheap and looks great. Especially when you get live growth on it.

Thats a great looking backdrop. The Great Stuff doesnt leech anything into the water? Did you post a thread on how you did it? If so could you link it?
It's gotta be cheaper than smashing my live rock and siliconing it to my overflow.
