Small bugs in the sand

Ok last night while I was watching things I turned on my flashlight and noticed some little white looking bugs, they are a little bigger than the size of a needle head, they are about the half of the size of a flea. They don't seem to be hurting anything, but i wouldlike to know what they might be. I figure they are some type of isopod. But I am not sure if they are harmful ones.

Very good for your tank. Especially if you ever want to get a Mandarine Goby.
Do they look like tiny shrimp?

Well after some hard work and patience, I finally caught one with a turkey baster, then I emptied the water out of it into a clear glass, then I had to take a flash light so that I could see it. Next I took a pipet and emptied the water out till I suck him up in the pipet. Then I got out the microscope andwhat it looks like to me is a Amphipods. Does this sound likely. Looks something like this.

Yes, this is a beneficial amphipod.
Review the link as there are some bad pods you should be aware of, too.
