small/medium fishes for a tall tank?

Hello, I would like to know the name of some small/medium size reef safe fishes for a 27-29 inches tank tall that could enjoy that height. Not seahorses.
Which ones could fit? I would like to have some cool fish/fishes swimming high.
The tank is cubic so it´s not very big (about 77 gal and 27-29" wide), but it´s tall.
Thanks very much.

lionfishes are very suited to that as they tend to hover but be careful about breed as some get too big for that. Banggai cardinals would do well. Stay away from tangs and angels as they usually need more length. A flamehawk would be nice. they perch on the rockwork alot.

Bangaii are boring though. I would get more active fish that would swim all over. Sixline wrasse. Clown Fish. Fairy Wrasse of some sort. Bi color Blenny are all over the place. Mine is anyway.
Then you could get a couple bottom dwellers. Jawfish or goby but not both.

could i add one Paracheilinus (chrysus or iridis) and one Halichoeres (mccoskeri or similar)? I think that it´s possible to have several of any, even several of the same family, but not sure if it´s a good idea to mix families...
thanks a lot.

I have a tall tank also. (I personally hate mine and will never have a tall tank again, but I digress...) I find that my 3 chromis and my yellow wrasse are always swimming around the top. Chromis are neat because they school.

I would go with some sand dewlling creators then middle and the all around. You could get a green spoted puffer, they travel everywhere.
Blue green chromis are cool for the price but you will get a lot of different comments about them just FYI.

My tank was custom built into the wall. My husband designed it, and I didn't know enough about tanks to know what I wanted, so I just went along with whatever. The problem now is that I can't reach the bottom. That means if a piece of coral, rock, dead fish, etc... hits the bottom, it is a mission and a half to get it out. Add to that the tank is the width of the wall. So as I am swimming in my tank to get to the bottom, I have to worry about knocking something else off because the tank is so thin. Also, it is hard to arrange rock work so that it won't fall, but it also doesn't touch the glass. I pay someone $75 a month to come do a monthly maintance for me. I just can't do it myself. For example, just the other night a hermit or smail must have knocked off a really nice shell with some xenia on it. I decided to "go swimming" and fix it. Well when I did that, I bumped a rock that bumped another rock. One thing led to another and I had an avalanche on my hands. One of the rocks fell on my blue hippo! It took me an hour and a half to pick everything up and arrange it so that it would stay put. I think it is not just the height, but also the width that makes it tough. Hope this helps.

Here are some pictures that I took last night. I have a really hard time taking pictures of my tank, so these are the best I could get. My tank is two sided, so I took pictures from both sides.
This is the view from the front door of my house...

This is the view from the other side which is my son's playroom...

As you can see, the top of the tank is bare. I'm looking into getting some more fish. Hopefully that will help.
