how do they sound as tankmates? I had a humu humu in there with the puffer and niger trigger, but brought him back after a few months he was such a bully. I want to add a small lionfish now. comments?

A lion with a puffer and a trigger is a bad risk IMO. The lion has long fins that will be ripped to shreds.

There will always be people that have a combination work, but for long term success, it's best to play the odds....Porcupine Puffers and semi-aggressive Triggers do not in general make good tankmates for Lionfish. Their curious nature tends to make slow moving fish like Lions into chewtoys.

Remember a small Puffer doesn't stay small very long, and Nigers get much more aggressive as they age...Trust me I've had 2, the first I had for 5 years.

Not a good idea. Porc. Puffers grow very large and are slow movers, same as a lion. Triggers are just too aggressive.
Besides your tank is way to small to house them long-term, added with they heavy bio-load

so far no problems

I could also keep a 3' Nurse Shark in a 75 gallon tank, but that doesn't mean you should.
Suffice to say, if someone has these 3 fish together already I will do my best to help them make it work. Telling them that its ok, no problem, or whatever though is just plain stupid.

Someone, somewhere has kept every possible combination of fish successfully, at least for a while. Funny, how long-term success stories on these "exceptions" are few and far between. The key phrase in the post #5 is "so far...".

well I honestly dont plan to keep them for their life span, my fish store is good about buying back healthy fish and Im a college student so over the summer I usually sell a majority of whats in my tank back and keep what ever is hardy over the summer or what not when im not home as often so someone else can easily feed them for me

Speaking of which, how is your 18 inch Queen Trigger doing with the Fuzzy Dwarf Lion? They still getting along ok?

Nope. I didn't get that posted in time. The Sohal you made me buy "took a dislike to him"first. But the damsels that I put in with my two grown Volitans are fine so far......whoops! Never mind.

I see you line in Gainesville.Any inside info I can use to bet on the Gators chances in the BCS Title Game? I think they are about 4 point favorites. Like my Dad always said; "Son, its not whether you win or lose, its the point spread."

He sure did, I moved my lions to the new reef; then to another tank when I got the anthias.

i didnt pay much attention to the sooners till the very end of the season, so I cant comment compared to them, but I think its gonna be a damn good game where we come out by a touchdown is my guess. If percy's ankle is good to go then id feel confident on the game in floridas favor. Either way shits goin crazy here in gainesville that day...cant wait!

Yeah, the Gators minus 4 sounds like something I'd better jump on.
