Tell me if it is ok please.
I have a 2.5 gal tank that I am going to use for a QT. I figured it is ok in size since I am only gonna have 1 small fish at a time in it.
I took about 1 gal of water from my tank and put 1 gal of RO freshly made salt water in the 2.5 gal. Plugged in my pump which is a Rio (but I don't know the rating) and a little Whisper inside filter that has activated carbon in it.
So that I do not have to cycle I took one of the Bio Wheels from my 29 gal and placed it into the 2.5 gal with all the major flow
Do you think that is enough to get the bacteria in the tank? My fish will be here on Wednesday.
Do I need a ph in that small of a tank? Should I go ahead a do a water change adding more water from my main tank?
Right now the salinity in the QT is 1.020 should I lower it more? I believe 1.019 is good to reduce stress - is that correct or should it be lower?
I have this posted in the new hobbyist, but only one person has responded so I thought over here would be better.
