What was wrong with the SJB? No dash/exterior lights, the key fob didn't work, etc?
Pretty common problem in those Mustangs, there's a water leak in the body (the SJB is right in the driver's side kick panel) and water gets right into the box. Did the dealer just replace the box, or did he do some sealing too, or was the box just fried anyways (non-water caused)?

It was so freakin wierd...on the way home from work...the radio turned off, the gas light, brake light, and oil light came on, a/c fan worked...but did not cool, and you know how your car beeps when the seatbelt is not in...well it did that constantly.....it did all of this for like 10 minutes...then all went back to normal
the next morning I took he car to FOrd....they found nothing....ok...I took car home
the next morning...I turn car on...headlights come on....Now I have had this car long enough to know I do not have running lights....bring car back to FOrd...lights still on (switch is off)...they have no clue either (imagine that)....so they call the main office for service, and they say it is the SJB....go figure
OH YEAH....me remote entry did not work either
I was pretty freaked out...thinking the car was becoming haunted..lol

The daytime running lights are a programmable option. They can either be turned on or off via the dealer's computer. Yours was probably bought with them switched off, and when the old SBJ was dying, it just switched settings.
Weird that dealer didn't know anything, there's a Service Bulletin out for the water leak to the SBJ, (TSB 07-14-06). I would strongly consider taking the car to a different dealer, and have them check the car for a leak, and mention you just had it replaced and mention the Service Bulletin number too. Enter "mustang smart junction box water" into google and you get a ton of results. It would stink to drop $500 on the new box, only to have the water fry it in 6 months again...

well at least it is guaranteed now for 12 months or 12,000 miles.
I only wish I had another dealer closer than 250 miles away..
But it is replaced now....I did tell the guy that if something else happens he is eating this part....
