Milo , if your seaclone has been modified by the previous user , or it was bought with the new factory mods , it will be just as good as any skimmer , i bought the seaclone 150 with the new factory mods . I get tons of DRY black Skimate , there previous seaclones used to be junk unless they were modified but the new ones are top notch .......... hence why they are expensive now

How can I tell if it has been modified? As for the CPR, I have had the air valve top off and it was hardly producing any bubbles. I put it back on and tightened it almost all they way down and now I get lots of bubbles and more water flow. However it just doesn't seem to be making foam to go up into that cup.

Jdragunas nailed it.. I forgot to empty it after I fed my fishies for the evening.. that is a definite "no,no" with my skimmer.

The prizm is a skilter filter if i'm correct, which is a really crappy filter if you ask me... I've never heard one good thing about them ever!
No a skilter is just that. theres the Skilter 250 (which I unfortunately have but dont use to skim) and the SKilter 400. Prizm skimmer as well as the Seaclone are head and heels better than the Skilter although that aint saying much. The Skilter is only capable of putting out a very little foam and its watery and not that nasty yet its so noisy and puts so many bubbles in the tank you have to turn it off when your in the same room or suffer badly. I use mine to basically circulate water with the air valve completely off (the only way its quiet). Seaclone works fine if you clean the collection cup completely every 2-3days and tweek the air valve just as often if not more. Local pet store uses Prizms with great success. All there large tanks (100+ gallons) have them and they have thick nasty skimate.
