Hi everyone, I really want to put a shark in my new custom 450 that is coming in about a week or 2. I'm very interested in a roaming shark, I'd like to get a smooth hound or a leopard or even a bonnethead shark. What are some opions you have. Please just don't say get a bamboo b/c frankly I really don't want one. thanks for the help everyone

what size tank do you have those two leopards in? I really want to go with a leopard instead, they are my favorite.

No. There is a problem. Leopards get 5-6ft and will outgrow a 450 in a few years. Smoothounds will outgrow too but they only get 3ft and will live in there longer before you'll have to get rid of them.
If you don't think you'll be able to provide these fish with a suitable home in a few years then PLEASE stick with a species that can live out its life on your tank.

dude it's gonna be no problem having a home for them in a few years, I don't plan on keeping any shark in anything less than a 450 any way, I plan on buying a small leopard and then build my pond or plywood tank in my basement, it'll be something like a 6000 tank or pond not 100% sure yet as to what I want.

That'll be fine then. I don't know what dimensions you are planning, but you'll want at least 20ft length and 8ft width for an adult leopard. I'd go for 4ft height too.

Splash, I really like your tank setup. It looks like a glass tank to me, just wondering where you got it and in what price range it would run.

thank you! I built the stand and cut the opening for the tank in the wall myself.... It is acrylic... I dont reccomend the company I bought it from becasue it was delivered scratched and they promised to fix it and never did.... I think I paid under $700 for it... but I paid wholesale, so retail my guess is around $1000....
