I did pretty good today....we went around to 3 LFSs and handed them flyers to hang up for SEAMAX....I only purchased some more LR and these were on one of the pieces. I wanna say they are snail eggs?!?!?!

Me thinks snail eggs, can't tell you what kind though. Snails will usually lay their eggs in the same patter that they feed in.

scrape any eggs ALWAYS. i cannot stress enough, that one benefecial creature does not outweigh a pest.
its also my main reason for not using liverock.

So true...but even with dead rock as soon as you have a new coral on a piece of rock...well so much for all the caution.

You could put the questionable rock in some saltwater and a small pump and wait to see what lives in it before adding it to your main tank. I can't imagine scraping it would get all of whatever it is and any other method defeats the purpose of buying live rock. Just my .02

I agree i should have scraped them immediately...now i have to wait till i get home from work today. Hopefully i don't come home to a tank full of pests!
Any tool i should use, guess i could grab a toothbrush on the way home or something?!?!?!

Are the eggs on a rock containing Zoas? Nudibranch (if that's what the eggs actually are) are typically very very specific about what they can eat. A Nudi that feeds on Blue Discodermia Sponges is not going to be able to successfully eat a Zoanthis for example. Personally, I wouldn't worry too much about it unless the eggs came on a Zoa rock.

No i specifically picked out the LR with no coral on it, even though one piece does have some reg zoos on it....anyways the two pieces i put in my 10gal have a little seaweed on em and these eggs, so hopefully they are just snail eggs! I need to know if im supposed to get the buggers off or not. I know nike says take em off and i agree that no animal is worth the pest pov....i did dip the pieces of LR before putting em into either tank!
