snail shells

I have had a few snails die recently I do have some hermits and wonder if it might be them, but at any rate - what should I do with the empty shells. They are the cone shaped ones and I don't think the hermits can get in them.

I have plenty of hermits with snail shells.Looks kind of wierd.I would keep them in the tank so maybe the hermits will use them instead of killing any new snails you get

I agree, leave em in the tank, even if the hermits never use them it gives them something to play with - the hermits I have are always moving shells around and carrying them from place to place - don't have the slightest idea why, but they do it.
