snails/hermits to tank size ratio

I currently have an 18 gallon tank with 1 snail, l blue legged hermit and 2 scarlet legged hermits. I was wondering, based on general rules of thumb, if I should be stocking more snails/hermits based on the size of my tank (18 gal)? Thoughts?

Do you have an algae problem? If they are keeping up with the algar I would leave it alone or maybe add one or two more snails.

I havve read in so many places that a general rule is 1-1 1/2 snails per gallon. That means that I would have from 80-120 snails in my 80gl. You want to know how many I have. 10 and 7 hermits. I know that many have more and some may have less. What I am tring to say is that it all depends on the amount of algea in your tank. Mine keep my tank pretty clean.
