What is the best snail for algae eating? Why would there be Bistol worms in my snails that i have now?
50 gallon reef
purple tang
maroon clown
blue and yellow damsel
bicolor blennie
50# live rock
10 snails
1 star
lots of corals
10 crabs
1 - Depends on the type of algae. For Diatoms I prefer snails that can easily reproduce in a reef tank. Stomatells varia and Strombus maculatus are a couple of good starters.
2 - If your snails died then the bristle worms would eat the dead flesh. It's their job
we have stomatellas also. seen trochus go after hair alge, turbos are hardy and good, astreas are supposed to be as good as turbos but stay on the small side
