snow flake eel help please.

I recently had a disaster with my tank. Almost lost all the water. I am now slowly filling it back with good RO water.
It is about 1/2 way filled now.
The problem is that my snowflake eel is staying at the top of the water line and looks to be gasping for air? It has never done this before. It usually stays hidden until feeding time.
The water parameters are good. What should I be looking for?
Any Ideas?

sfe might just be scared outta his mind lol i would just keep a close eye on your water parameters(sp?) and the eel. if anything else this served as a bump

Today I get up and all the small red worms that usaually stay in my DSB are all over the glass? Another new one on me?
