Snowflake eel

I am wondering how big they get and how fast they grow? My son wanted one so I ordered one from SWF.com because it said docile when small. I have it in my 75gal and would like to know how long until I should take it out before it starts to feed itself on my fish, right now it is 7-8 inches long and has no interest in my fish. In the tank are 2 clowns, 1 flame angel, 2 yellowtail blue damsels, 2 green chromis damsels, 1 royal gramma, 1 pearlscale butterfly, 1 yellow tang, 1 green mandarin dragonet, 20 blue legged hermit crabs, 1 emerald crab, 2 brittle starfish, and 1 fire shrimp

Mine was the same size as yours when I got it, I would say it took about 2 and a half maybe 3 years to double it's size. Make sure your tank is well covered, they are great escape artists (like all eels).

You will probably eventually loose your fire shrimp, and more than likely your emerald. I don't think it will bother your brittles, or your hermits. Just keep it well fed, and your fish should be all right. unfortunately I tried to add an emerald crab that my lfs said would be ok, because they are "difficult" to get off the rocks, and unfortunately the crab didn't last a day in my tank
.
Just try to feed it every couple of days, and your fish should be ok, but it all depends on your eel's personality.
