So Excited, I Bought A Naso Tang!!!

Ok, ok, had to share my excitement. I purchased my adorable naso tang today. I left it at the lfs overnight until tomorrow because I wanted to acclimate earlier in the day so I could keep my eye on him. He has been at the lfs since last Tuesday and is eating, looks healthy and clean of anything on him..eyes are bright, he is personable already....so I made the leap. He is about 4 inches in size and I have a 90 gallon tank, but will be upgrading within the year so tang police relax!! I am anxious about it and will be acclimating him into my main tank...so far every fish I have gotten there has been healthy and well without quarrantine first, so cross your fingers. I have a 10 gallon quarrantine tank and did not want to subject him to weeks in that small tank. I will however watch him very carefully and remove him if I see anything wrong with him. I had my water parameters check out well and will do my water change before he arrives home tomorrow afternoon. I will take pictures either tomorrow or Monday for all of you to view on this thread, I am so excited!! :cheer:

thanks Todd, can't wait to get him, can you tell!!! I am nervous about putting him right in my tank but he looks incredibly healthy and is in the tank with an angel at the lfs that has been there for a while and is also very healthy....I know it is a risk but I think it is better than stressing him twice in that 10 gallon quaranine...so wish me luck!

Here is my naso.....seemed to be doing great during acclimation and very comfortable so far in the tank...the maroon female has not been quite as happy since the naso keeps crusin' past her inside her cave.....but no aggression I have seen yet.....here are the pics!

thanks Lisa!! I don't know why I am so nervous about having a tang, I think it is just the idea of having a big fish that makes me nervous. She is doing well tonight..seems to be deciding where to sleep and she keeps going side by side with my female maroon who is not very happy about this right now, for this is someone wanting to take some of her space up. I just hope my maroon learns to deal with it....

Yeah, that would worry me too, but I'm sure that things will work out. Good luck with everybody...I'm sure things will work themselves out.

well got up this morning and all are well. Seems that the maroon has figured out how to keep her cave from the tang..hehe.....she was in her cave with her bubble coral happy and the tang was actually behind the cave hangin' with the shrimp who was cleaning him and the tang looked great. whew, got through the first night, that is always stressful for me. Will enjoy today the first day that the lights will kick on with her in there....I noticed that my clip with algae was mostly gone but not sure if it came off, or if it was eaten, probably just gone in the surf.....
