soft corals safe with hawaiin puffer?

want to start adding some soft corals....will the puffer eat 'em for lunch? How bout the arrow crab. lawn mower blenny?
Have taken the tank population down....moved blue damsel, domimo and striped, after a war to catch them....(get a glass cake pan or bowl, clear, and trap 'em!!! Just don't bust the glass!)
Looking into reef safe fish...and if the puffers not, he will get a new home other tank, or...the corals will. I dunno.
Any good suggestions on really nice looking fish we could add? Don't want 'impossible to feed fish", which has been a problem in the past.
Thanks!!!

you won't have a problem with the crab or lawnmower blenny but i'm pretty sure the puffer might. i would get a flame hawk as long as you don't have shrimps. they like to perch on corals and things of that nature. pretty cool little guys.

Loopy,
You could get one with a different personality, but the Hawaiian spotted I had nipped at EVERYTHING! If I had known I'd be upgrading my lights so soon I never would have gotten him. I had to take him back to the LFS.

If you have another tank you can keep one in, they are awesome fish! Mine would come to me and let me hand feed him, but swim away if anyone else came in the room. :D

If I had the money to set up a 29 just for him, I absolutely would have. It's almost funny how upset I was taking him back to the LFS . . . upset over a fish!

I hand feed my puffer too, he is just a big baby...even 'goes to bed' every night at the same time....in a dip in the rock, same place all the time. He's kinda ugly lookin, but delightful. A guy I work with had a roommate move out and leave his 75 gallon sw tank. fish and all, he's giving me the tank along with everything in it and delivering it for me!!!! I don't know what kind of fish are in there now, but I if they are not something I want I can always trade them for credit at the store and put the puffer in there, then get coral friendly fish for the 55. Corals will be a challenge for me, so I am in no hurry until I read more. Thanks!!!!!

I have had a hawaiin spotted puffer in my reef for about 6 months or so and have had no problems at all. Luck of the draw i guess.

I love my Hawaiian Puffer but he eats everything in site, i was suprised on how trusting he has become so quick. I've had him for almost two weeks now and after the first couple days he didn't shy away from me anymore and also let's me hand feed him. But he loves to break up the frozen block i put in the tank, before he eats anything else he really wants to just break up that frozen block. I love the little guy and the way he sleeps on his belly is cool.
