Great pics! Beautiful fishes.....maybe you can answer this (stupid/newbie)question...on the yellow tangs I have seen pictured, they all have a little white "something" positioned at the beginning of their tail, what is that?

That's the spine. All tangs have them.

Tangs are also called Surgeonfish. That is actually a knife like projection that can be used for protection.

Thanks! That third shot I'm hoping will be in Popular Photography. I was contacted by an editor about that pic for an article they were doing about aquarium photography.
This forum is really great. I hope to get some tips/ideas on how to make my tank better. It's a slow process right now with photography AND the tank as a hobby. Or should I say expensive process....
