There was a spot about the size of a quarter of this stuff that was there forever and does not seem to grow. Now I notice it started to grow!
Its soft to the tough but you cant scrap it off with your finger nail. I dont know how to remove it if I cant scrap it off.
All water perimiters are fine and where they should be.%%

really? its really soft and squishy but flat against the rock. It also has not grown in weeks but all of the sudden is taking off. It started about 3 or 4 months ago the size of a pea and now is about 1''x 2''

Wetwebmedia id'd this picture as a sponge. Pretty much like what you have going there me thinks.

There is an algae like that. I had it at one time. Geez, I have no idea where the pic is though. It is indeed slimy and it's not thick like a sponge. Lemme look through my notes.

Mine was ID'd as Lobophora sp. I'm going to try and trace the date back through my photos. I moving and organizing pics to a couple of externals and it's looks like a sock drawer ATM.

So if i cant scrap it off with my finger nail then what method would you recommend to remove it without it getting into the rest of the system?
Im thinking since im tearing the tank down soon I could just use a razor blade on it but its in the crevises so I dont know if that will work

What about taking some clear silicone or super glue gell and covering it completely to choke it out? Do you think that would work?

Actually I am impatient so I am going to try the super glue gel thing for now and then when I do tear the tank down I will burn the remainder of it off. This stuff is scarry! From the looks of other pictures it can really take over the tank.
