Dear friends,
It's part of a larger argument Beck has been making: that President Obama wants to serve the needs of Black communities at White people's expense. This kind of talk stirs up fear, hate, and it can lead to violence.
This sentence, I will agree with you, should have never been said. To say it can stir up hate and lead to violence, I'll even agree with that. The fear part, not so much.
But here's the problem. By this statement, he's mixing up the word "class" with race. By that I mean, he should have said, "Obama wants to serve the needs of the "lower classes" at the expense of the "higher class people"... (class defined by income for the sake of this post)
To assume that lower classes are black is just down right ignorant, but sadly a common error.
But forget black and white... You want to avoid the "fear, and hate" then why aren't you taking the stand for the classes.
If it's whites paying for blacks it's all kinds of wrong, but if it's rich paying for poor, you support it??
I guess I'm old school in that I really don't believe anybody should get anything for nothing, with the exception of rare and individually evaluated cases that advance the recipient to no longer need assistance (ie college)...
I don't mind taxes. I drive on the roads, I'll pay auto taxes. I like the protection of the police force, I'll pay the city and state taxes. But tax me cause YOU can't afford insurance?? Why again?? I don't know you. I don't care about you... If I did, I'd volunteer to pay your medical bills, but I don't. I would never volunteer it, so why are they considering forcing me to it??
The only people who benefit from this are the ones who need it, and to be blunt...I really don't care what you need. (Not "YOU" rslinger, just people in general)...
Heck, I think there should be electric company reform, water distribution reform, auto insurance reform, state tax allocation reform, and education lottery reform, but it's not gonna happen...
