Most were from trades and the rest I didnt pay much for, and Yes I will be fragging when they grow out but most are small frags themselves so it will be a while.

Sounds like some perfect timing for when I get back from Iraq around April... I'm hoping to get a few more types of zoos and stock my frag tank for growout before we leave. I'm placing an order today for some of those disks we talked about that way I should have some small colonies when I return.

if you plan on growing them out while you are gone you may want to use lr or baserock instead....they can grow into nice size colonies in a few months so if your gonna be gone for 15 months or more I would give them larger rocks to growout on or teach the other half to frag them when they get too big.

Really? that quick? I'm going to be getting some of my first zoas, and I was wondering how long a few polyps would take to get a colony.
For example, on average - how long would 5 polyps take to get to 50?
and are there things you can do to speed up propagation?

for me i have gotten 5 polyps up to 25-30 from march to july...zoos are a bit hard to speeden them up as t hey dont normally take any food unless palythoas...they love their light and to just be left alone and to let patience run its course.
you might be able to get more overall growth if they are in single polyps because theyll have more outbound room to grow, but not 100% sure about that

Just some more pics that turned out nice and a changed morph. The yellows originally had a white ring with a large yellow mouth but now they have developed a pink ring lined with almost a dark bluish purple. Very nice looking.

Yup, I'm still working on teaching the ins and outs of maintaining the tanks so fragging could be a second semester class.
I also got some of those reef discs, 30 for ten bucks... Seems a little pricey for what they are but are the perfect size to grow out small zoa colonies. Before I leave I'm going to place like 3 polyp frags of each color morph divided evenly into 30 for grow out. That will allow me some great trading capability upon my return. I love the first three color morphs pictured on this page btw...
Hopefully you wont have everything I do before I'm ready to trade again...
