Sadly, that shows how pathetic our government is when that pathetic list of wasted money is actually better than I expected it to be. Thank goodness they are saving the Asian Longhorned Beetle.

All this and they can't spare 30 grand for SCSInet's dream reef tank?
Think of all the custom acrylic tank, equipment and LFS jobs I'll be creating or saving!!!

Then again the government would spend 30K on a 10g nano...

That's a whole load of pork that shouldn't have been spent...
That being said, there is one thing they all have in common....paying people to do something, aka work, aka creating jobs...
If the trickle down effect really works, it should "create" a lot of money.

And I wonder how many of those jobs were targeted to the SEIC union
If they were just going to spend the money for the sake of making jobs they should have built things with long lasting benefits. With all the push to alternative energy why not build some thermal solar power plants and maybe improve roadways in some of the bigger cities to free up congestion and put people to work where unemployment has hit the hardest

I just don't get the foolishness coming from people who are supposed to be smarter than the rest of us.

I agree. Like I said, I am not and was not for the Stimulus Bill or Tarp and I dislike the current and former president for their spending habits. I felt that stimulus would be helpful, but not what ended up getting passed. I disliked Bush for his budget and I'm disliking Obama for his...

Hmmm....
I wonder of many of these are just making news because their part of the stimulus, and are happening now, vs. would have happened, stimulus or no stimulus. I am sure the bridge in Iowa would have been fixed regardless, people need to get to their homes. Madison County IL, probably would have winterized their trucks anyways, you need county trucks in winter too. And there would have been something done about the wildlife crossing US27 in Jackson FL.

That is why no matter what this govt does it will never be able to fix this countries problems. Things are to far gone to stop now. Its a snowball effect. I think this country reached the top of the hill a couple years ago and now its all downhill from here.
I cant understand why everyone seems to know what this country needs to get back on top but nobody can do it! The govt is too bloated and inefficent to fix itself.

Here's a secret....Every single voter who passed this legislation had some type of "personal porkfat" thrown in there to get their vote. They hope it never comes out, but this list is just a tip of the iceberg.

Here's one. Obama closed Yucca Mountain nuclear waste facility before it could open. For a couple decades we have paid a surcharge on power bills to pay for it. Because it wasn't built on schedule the government has had to repay those funds to power companies who now have no place to dispose of the waste from the power plants. Did any of you get your money back from Uncle Sam?
What is even worse is the government is going to continue to have to pay the power companies for not storing the waste and the power plants are eventually going to have to shut down because they wont have a place to store additional spent fuel but the waste will still be there so we will also have to end up paying to secure the sites.
And people want these morons running health care %%

No doubt, that is probably just a list of Hillary's earmarks.

I don't know. How many parts does it take to build a fish sperm freezer? Who designed it? Who maintains it? etc., etc.
Horrible waste of money, I agree, just saying...
