I think it is the best choice because you can do easy modifications. To get a good lighting system all you have to do it purchase a retrofit kit to fit in the existing strip light and you can house a many variety of corals. A 32 watt retro kit can be installed into the existing light strip and keep just about anything except acros and clams... Plus the minibow 7 is made out of glass not plastic like the smaller minibows and the eclipses..

How did you rig the lighting? It looks really incredible.
I Have been thinking of doing a nano--but am afraid to try. I have a 5g Eclipse Hex that I want to use, but would definately need a clue on the lighting!

I have a custom built minibow hood and housed a 2 by 32 watt retro kit in there with a fan in the back. Heat never gets over 78.5
