Some questions?

I was just wondering how often people have to scrape the glass of their fish tanks? I have to scrape 3-4 times per week. is that normal?
Also I swithched to RO water about a month ago, but I am still getting brown diatoms on my sand, and still have traces of phosphates. I cant figure it out.
Everything else is good, as far as water parameters and my lights are left on for 8-10 hours a day (PC 4X65).

not to take over somebodies post, but since its on the topic of diatoms, if i have diatoms in my tank, (not much, but its still there) does that mean im not able to have coraline growing?

I clean my glass at leat two times a week. Wonder how many snails it would take to keep the glass free from algae so we didn't have to scrape?

My LFS told me I need about 30 mexican turbos for my 55. I think that is a little bit extreme, but I only have 10 now so I will probably buy 10 more to see how it goes.
