now that the killer tang is not in the picture I have changed my mind on what I was originaly going to do with the tank(reef) I have setup a smaller tank that I am going to make into a reef tank and going to use the 100 gallon tank as a FOWLR no I need to figure out what I am going to put in the tank so I am looking for suggestions as to what can go into the tank aggressive or not dont hold back ;-)
I want something that is going to be active and interesting..
thanks in advance.

I am 100% biased to aggressive fishes, so I'm going to tell you to do an aggressive tank with the 100. You have a lot of good options for that tank. Many triggers (pinktail, bluechin, humu), puffers (dogface, tobies, possibly pork), smaller groupers
(miniatus and blue-line), wrasses (tusk, lunare, banana/sunset, dragon), eels (snowflake, chainlink, goldentail, zebra, blackedge, Mex and Hawaiin Dragon), hamlets (blue, indigo, shy, butter), smaller lions (radiata, clearfin, dwarfs), et cetera would be very nice in that tank. Here is what I'd do
Male blue chin triggerfish
Goldentail moray eel
Austrailian Harlequin Tusk
Radiata Lion and or some sort of hamlet
That would be a very nice looking tank. Bo

I'm a bit less agressive - I think a tank with willing participants who are entertaining:
Racoons, Angles, Clowns, maybe a safe tang or so.
I have three tangs, two clowns, a flame angel and couple of damsels. I would suggest that you make sure you put your LR so the fish can swim over but not so much hide behind. After mine are fed they hang out behind the rock.
Oh - yeah - I have two star fish, 30 snails, 30 hermits, two urchins and two Sally Lightfoot Crabs. I'm looking to add some more inverts to the tank and maybe some mushrooms and feather dusters. I like my FOWLR tank to have basic animals and some inverts.

If your looking for something active and interesting then I would suggest clownfish, these fish are very active and can be very interesting. I like royal grammas too, they are colorful and somtimes they can be active, but then a lot of times they are also shy. I would try another tang, a different kind than your last tang. One that I have found peacful is the yellow tang.

thanks for the suggestions still some thinking to do but mena while the tank can stablize alittle more the cycle is done but with all the changes and deaths in it I figure let it have some simmering time before I add anything to it..
Carrie the tang was a yellow that was killing everything ;-)
any other suggestions ??

hmmm, usually the yellow tangs are peacful, well another fish that I like alot is the flame angel. This fish is very pretty and a good community fish. You could try a different tang, one that I like is the blue hippo tang or the powder blue tang, these are my favorite tangs and as far as I know they are peacful.

I am not sure if I want to go aggressive or not yet but there have been some very interesting suggestions made. I am unfornately going to be changing up another tank this weekend I setup the 30 but got a great deal on a RR 54 so the 30 will be changing homes again.hopefully the last change I am going to turn it into a QT tank it has been changed 4x in just a couple of months this will be the 5th good thing there isnt anything in it but some LR. ( FW to SW to SW FOWLR and now to QT)
thanks

I'd fully enforce the blue hippo tank option if you're looking for a striking, interesting fish...I have two (In different tanks mind you lol) myself, and both of them provide me with hours of amusement! (for those of you thinking I'm a crazed fish abuser, I have a 200, a 100, a 90, a 25, a 30 and until recently a 10gal species tank for a gigantor hermit crab with anemones residing on his shell :D )
But I also have a penchant for wrasses, I have an astralian tusk, a 6-line, a lunare (Which I'm looking to get rid of if anyone is interested, email or private message me...if you decide you want a lunare Michael, I have a gorgeous, healthy specimen within three hours drive [Sweetwater] from you lol) and what was sold to me as a cleaner wrasse, but I believe with everything that is in me that it's really a juvenile chiseltooth wrasse and the LFS (as usual) was mistaken.
And you don't want to get me started on lionfish and groupers lol I have a porcupine puffer that I love dearly, but sort of regret buying...but not enough to get rid of him lol

thanks

There's a really good one in Abilene, a bit high, but a couple of the guys almost always know what they're talking bout...there is, of course, one basic and complete dumbass, but you'd be able to spot him *right* away lol Abilene is about 40 miles west of me, so it's about 3 1/2 hours away from you...but I really do feel that it's worth it for the quality.
I have heard good things about the fish store in Lubbock, but I'm a territorial person, so I pretty much stick with Abilene, with a jaunt to fort worth on occasion (where they have large quantity of cheap fish..but their tanks look trashy. They use gravel and fake plants, and in their 125 display tank, they didn't even bother with that! It's just fish doo and a bit of coraline lol) The store in Abilene gets it's shipments in every tuesday or every other tuesday, depending on the size of the shipment, it's called Pam's Pet's in Abilene. If you'd like we can meet at a truck stop or something and you can follow us (my bf and I) to Abilene...I'd give you directions, but Abilene is *really* confusing...and I'm not much of a directions person rofl I know that it's two blocks passed the McDonalds :D
I just moved to TX the April before last! (From Washington state) so that probably also attributes to why I can't get the directions down yet.
There are also two saltwater stores in San Angelo, but one is *really* expensive and one doesn't carry much...Pams is a bit high, but they carry all kinds of fun stuff!
