If it went down and up SLOWLY you will be ok. Get to a store and get a titanium heater with external controller and fix the problem asap. Don't waste your money with glass. Remember fish are cold blooded and you change their body temp with water temp, so don't go doing waterchanges with 90degree water or anything crazy like that.

I doubt it . . . . but you never know.
Time for a new heater it sounds like. Go with Ebo Jager if you can find one, Won Brothers also make a good heater from what I hear.

hm. it seems to be rising and dropping pretty slow IMO. 6' drop in 12 hours? would an Acura 1000 Heater be a good choice? it shows what temp it keeps it at

wocka, ich is a parasite that is either in your tank or not. If its not in your tank, temp will not cause it to be there.

yep it does and can live in your tank for a while (beth was right but alot of us have ich in our tanks that is dormant) and it is just waiting for your fish to get stressed during a water change or temp cahnge or something.(it can stay in a tank for severeal months..up to 8 i think)
