My boyfriend said maybe its a sponge. It's about 1 1/2 " tall and brown in color. It reminds me of a lichen that grows in the forrest. (This is in my new 65 gal fowlr) I'm not sure how long it's been there, but I just noticed it last night. My skimmer is a CPR bak pak and I have heard of things getting sucked in. I didn't intend on having anything small enough for that!!!
Do I leave it there or remove it?
Thanks!!

This didn't jump over from Mr. Bubbles did it? J/K anyways I'd say leave it be if not harming anything. Waterflow and parameters still all ok? if so leave it be

I get them and calcium-tubed fanworms (VERY small ones) in my skimmer all the time. Has never caused any problems. Although, I guess if ya get too many they might start to interfere w/water flow thru skimmer. I usually cleam em out when I do a thorough cleaning on my skimmer every 3-6 months.

i get things growing in my skimmer also. i also got a backpac, once i have a barnicle type of thing growing in it. just clean it out or leave it if you want. might have to clean it if it gets too big and starts to interfare with the water flow.
