Sure, high salinity is where you raise the salenity of the water to a high level. Example: I keep my sg at 1.026 and if you want to run a mantis out of the rock...raise it to 1.036. This is not intended to kill him but make him exit the rock.
You do not raise the entire tank, but simply mix a bucket of water which you dip your rock into. This will keep from having die off as you dip your rocks as oposed to a freshwater dip.
I am not sure at what SG level it will harm your inhabitants.
