Ewww!!!!! Read this and immediately was reminded of my parents hairy crab. They were having the same problem in their 35g hex. Couldn't figure out what the heck was goin on. Finally, months after fish started randomly and occasionally disappearing, they saw this big, nasty, HAIRY crab. . Had no idea what to do with him. Finally moved his gross self over to the 125g FOWLR, fully expecting him to get ate up by somebody (aggressive fish only in this tank). He finally died a week and a half ago when a faulty ballast caused a fire in the house....all the fish in that tank died (and a couple in the reef have died, too 
) mom is more sad about losing the crab cause of his history. Dad is sad cause he lost a BIG lion and a BIG cool eel among others...it's gonna be ok tho, cause mom agreed to let him have a 200g when they can move back into the house!
