Something killed my only fish. What now?

First a brief history. I had a damsel that I cycled with. After 6 weeks everything was fine so I decided to add a clown fish. The clown was fine at first, but about 1 week started to act like he was going to die. He had labored breathing, and sat on the bottom of the tank, and swam almost vertically. I added some lr to the tank for the first time, and literally overnight the clown was fine. During this whole time the only water parameter that was out of line (after cycling of course) was Nitrates (but never higher than 40). All that was prob a 4 weeks ago.
Anyway, the damsel started showing his true colors and began picking on the clown so I returned him to the lfs I originally bought him from. That was about 10 days ago. Then Thursday night I came home and my clown had a light grey film covering his body, including his eyes. There were whitish splotches, but not white spots like ich, as well. Anyway, this morining (Sat.) he's dead.
If it were any kind of parasite (brookynella, etc.), would leaving my tank fish free kill off any remaining threat? I still have 2 nassarius, 2 turbos, and 1 starfish.
What about running the salinity to 1.009 and the T to 30 C? Would that kill my remaining livestock?

You can not run hyposalinity in a tank that has LR or inverts. Not necessary anyway. Take a look at the clowns with brooklynella in the Diseased Fish thread to see if you can get an id.
Leave the tank fishless for 6 wks. That should do it generally.
Use this time to set up a QT.

Thanks Beth. I have decided to continue my steps toward converting my tank to a nano reef. I removed the CC today and replaced it with LS. After I obtain adequate lighting, I'll start stocking with "beginner's" soft corals like leathers, shrooms, zoos, etc. Then maybe around xmas, I'll make a decision about fish. That should be plenty of time for any parasite to die out.

I checked the thread before I posted the question, and I looked it up elsewhere. Still though, I'm not 100% sure its Brookynella, but come late Dec. I don't think it'll matter.

Thanks again for taking the time to help me out.
