Something's hurting/eating my fish!

Hi again... well whatever it is it's terrorized my gray tang and marine beta to death (biting on their fins), ate two clownfish and I cant for the life of me find it. I've tried removing the live rock and dipping it in calcium treated water to drive out a killer shrimp if there is one to no avail. Almost ready to give up and convert the tank to freshwater.....YIKES, just kidding.

Im sorry about your losses but I went through much the same thing fish disapaering but no culprit to blame.But as a last resort I didn't feed for a week(also I traded what fish were left back to lfs)the I hung a peice off shrimp tied with fishing line in the tank and let it float pertty soon hereit came and grabed it and I just traced the line back to his hole pulled the rock out and squirted boiling water down his hole.BYE BYE MR MANTIS

i have the same problem. i think it's my hermit crab, i even caught him red handed trying to eat my feather dusters-see "darn hermit crab" topic. i think i under fed my tank...good luck
