My son moved back home, with his 40 gallon salt tank. I think he doesn't feed them enough. He has 5 fish and only feed them in the morning. Flake food. My sister has a tank and feeds morning and then at night.

he's feeding enough.
maybe a little to much some people feed every other day.

And your sister is feeding way to much :scared:
Hope this helps,
Austin

Really? Because I feed my fish morning and night also and they seem to be hungry each time.

90% of hobbyists over feed. I feed a little bit of mashed pellet whenever i can during the day, and that means like one pellet at a time, between 5 fish, usually equalling 3 pellets/day.

once a day is perfectly fine, i feed my 3 fish once every 2-3 days, they mostly get their food from critters in/on the live rock

We have alot of algea in the tank. It doesn't look good should I buy a shrimp to eat it or is there a better fish to eat it.

I take what would be considered one feeding and add it in two or three times a day.
Less problems with waste and the fish will eat virtually all that is put in the tank at each feeding.
