this time i couldn't get a picture of the things...not one you could see what i was talkin bout. yesterday when we were doing a waterchange my husband noticed these weird lil stick like things that were sticking out of a piece of liverock. they looked like a lil stick maaybe the size of your pinky nail, if that long. and there was white/clear stuff oozing out of the tip so it looked like snotty stringy stuff flowing in the water...i only noticed them on one rock though like 10-20 of them. Any ideas mother/son duo?:)

Sounds like vermitid snails to me. Not bad when there is just a few but can get pretty bad. I have been trying to kill all of mine for months now) Just keep nutrients in check and population should stay in check)

^^ lol.. Manually remove them by hand or super glue the tops of there tubes, also can inject kalk mix into there tubes.. They are filter feeders so best way is to control there food source but heh I cant say too much cause im trying to kill all mine at atm or at least thin the numbers and its a pita=)

salty is correct here in that they will wax and wane with the available nutrient in the system. Husbandry, feeding, bioload etc are all things to consider in deeping these types of things from multiplying.
Pick them off with tweezers, kalk, or if there are not that many just leave them be and work on reducing nutrient in the system.
