well i got another clown trigger which will make it my 3rd 1 in a month
its doing really good
i added a few fish with it just a couple insignificant damsels
they seem to all get along really well but there is 1 BIG dominant damsel that rules the tank or well his territory anyway, but he takes his mouth and pushes the other fish off but dosent bite them...
this time around i started feeding everything i put in my tank garlic treated food to TRY to avoid ick.
and so far i dont see any spots onm his anal and dorsal fins like i did last time
i also got this fish from a different store!!!
1 thing that did make my heart skip a beat though is that when i was feeding them last night with the garlic treated food after it was finished eating it started to do like a barrel row and a tumble then started to dart all over
it actually turned over like it was spinning side ways right after it got finished eating then all of a sudden it was fine.
today after i fed it the garlic treated food it was fine.
and seems to be doing fine!!!
if it makes it until thursday it will be the longest 1 ive kept alive
hopefully it goes all the way
its a juvi
any ideas on what it may have been doing???

I don't know what to tell you, but when I had fish do that dance, they would let me know that my water quality was way out of sinq. Not saying that your in-exp. But after the 2nd one died, you should have known that something was up. I wish I had your budget because that fish is not cheep, I know I WANT ONE ! I have not had much luck in keeping triggers. ( Question ! Do you think a 5-6 inch Green Bird Wrasse could of punched my Niger trigger 2 in in the tail while he was in his bed up against the rock ? As he was darting around the tank he was doing loop to loop in the end it looked like his tail was broken ? I really want a Clown Trigger But I don't want the same thing to happen.
Hope yours make it ! keep us posted I would like to know how it goes. Retest your water maybe you missed something. not to be pompous but it sounds like you enjoy watching your fish eat.

lol yeah i do enjoy watching my fish eat, and did your niger trigger die because of the incident
i asume a fishes tail is just like a humans arm, leg shoulder, if you break it it will heal, but during the process it does need some kind of special care!!!
my budget isnt that extravigant i just want the fish cause it TRULY makes me happy and gives me something to look forward to coming home to!!
thanks for the in put but i really dont think my water quality is out of wac, cause i check it every day, plus he only does it after he eats
he was also scraping up against rocks around in the area he dominates and raises his triggers to show his LITTLE dominance.
wish i had some batteries to show off some pic, i think ill try and go to find some
but yes hes doing really good now, and hasnt showed any more signs of this eratic behavior
thanks for the post and i will keep you posted
and yes i think you wrasse could have caused the problem but i really wouldnt bet on it but i think fish generally leave other still fish alone unless they think they are dead and then they may pic at them, but i wouldnt see y your wasse would have a reason to attact a completley docile fish at the time
