I persuaded the Home Depot Mgr. to bring in 2 pallets. I just picked up 9 bags. If you're interested it's at the Walker store just northwest of Grand Rapids.

Yeah there was more than a pallet. I'm posting this so those that want it locally can get it and if it moves as I promised him it would he'll continue to order it' By the way it's located in the garden center as tropical play sand.

I just picked up 2 bags. I might go back and get some more. Why did you get 9? How do you prep it before you put it in your tank?

I don't know but a 50# bag will cost alot to ship (probably at least $20.00) so it might not be worth it. BTW, they are $7.00/bag here. Do what LL did and go to your local HD and sea if you can get them to order it.

I got 9 because i'll need about 300 lbs. for my tank and fuge combined and I'll have a reserve in case I want to set up more and replenish the sand that eventually disolves. How much was left?

A LOT, maybe 1 1/2 skids. Do you know when they got it in? Are you setting up a new tank?

Yeah I'm finally setting up the 125. I just built the stand and I'm going to build a smaller sized fuge to sit behind it same height and length just 4 inches narrower I'll have a sump on one end and a 4 ft. fuge in the middle. I can use smaller pumps for return as I won't have as much head pressure as the under tank setups.

How fast does he expect it to move. There probably aren't too many people who would buy it for their kids sandbox $$$$$$$ and I don't think very many people with SWF tanks will be looking at HD for a substrate.

Well I put it up here to help newbies get a break and I've had 86 hits already. I'm going to try to get over there today to see how it's moving and if you read up on this stuff they're claiming it is the safest sand bed for kids sand boxes so HD should win both ways. BTW what part of GR are you from?

I like Solomon Seas, the prices are good and everything I've bought from them is doing good. They have a lot of smaller corals that are very affordable. Chow Hound on 28th street is ok too. Ecco-Reef in Hudsonville is a bit of a drive and a little expensive but if you want really nice, bigger sized corals or clams its the place to go.
I'm out towards Standale, I have only lived here about 2 yrs.

I've talked to the Solomons guy alot he's been offered a job on Tonga to run a coral and fish wholesale business for the big live rock guy Smith out of Fiji He's married to the little lady that works in his store she's really cool her parents gave them an oceanfront lot in the Solomon's. I love the Zealand guy's store if you ask him he'll take you through his basement to see his filtration system Hey my e-mail is holden@iserv.net send me something with your member name in the subject line

is there any southdown left? maybe i'll go tomorrow...
Solomon is great, and he's always willing to make a deal for the smaller stuff that the other LFS's tell me it's not worth thier time :( plus i've never gotten an unhealthy fish from him... I was sad he was closed today, i havn't had the $$$ to work on my tank since I was transferd stores. any of you guys been to agnello's lately? thier tanks just keep looking worse and worse.. i feel so sad for thier fishes :(
also where is the zeeland guys store? and what happened to coral reef on plainfield? i know they closed like a year ago and the guy was usually a d*** to me but he suggested some good books.
sorry didn't mean to derail the topic
