Southdown sand in Milwaukee, WI

I called two Home Depots in Milwaukee, both said their play sand is just labeled "play sand" and one guy said he thought it was high silicate sand. Guess it would be worth a stop if you are here for some other reason. The guy said all Milw area stores use the same distributor, you would do better to call a store north of Fond du Lac or south of Racine for a different distributor. Two other lfs that we visit are Aquatics Unlimited on Highway 100 (southwest Milw) and they have 30# aragonite for $30 and Fish Factory (south side) has 10# bags for $6. HTH

I live in MN but my brother is looking for some in the Milwaukee area. He lives in Fond du Lac but the Milwaukee area is close. I was just wondering if anybody has seen it around.

We can't get it here in Oklahoma either and I had a friend check in Dallas at Home Depots there and no luck so I'm wondering does anyone know how to get a hold of Southdown? Is there a way to go direct to them?

The Kohler, Wisconsin Home Depot has Southdown - I just bought 4, 50 pound bags for $6.99 each today (4/9/2002).
The first store I checked didn't have any, but they did a search on the sku (578-819)for me and found that the only HD in Wisconsin that had any was in Kohler.
They had 2 pallets, but one was marked sold. They said that they ordered 9 pallets last summer and will be ordering a new shipment soon since they are nearly out.
I can't wait to get my tank set up...the sand looks beautiful.
