I found the SKU# for southdown sand at home depot... SKU# 578819 Anyway I was told if the the home depot near you doesn't have the sand they can use that sku# to search the nearest home depot to get it. I found that SKu# from someone else on a message board... I hope this helps.

yeah I've had that sku# but it goes for any brand of play sand and believe me there are lots of brands with that sku at a lot of Home Depots but it's not Southdown. I talked to Southdown today and they just got bought by a company called cemex and neither of those companies have a clue either! I've talked to a lot of Home Depots and that way doesn't work. I even have the UPC code 9060420100 and that doesn't help either. Again, depending on what part of the country you live in depends on what brand of sand it is. Does your Home Depot carry it. If so where is your Home Depot, city name. I'll try them

I'm going down to home depot this weekend and I'll keep you informed about my findings. I heard alot of home depots in the southwest region has it. I live in Gilbert, AZ. It is close by to Phoenix. If they have it I wonder how much it would cost to ship it to you guys?

Try the HD store in Reading, PA. I saw some there when i was home for christmas and my parents picked up 3 or 4 bags for me about a month ago.

you can buy the SAME southdown sand from:
<a href="http://www.purearagonite.com" target="_blank">PureAragonite.com</a>
they buy it in bulk, put it into 40 lb bags and ship it quite reasonably. cost a little more, but it easier than fighting HD.

Anthem, I'm sure you are right but how did you ever manage to talk to someone at Southdown that had a clue? Especially since they were just sold to Cemex? I have talked to probably 20 clueless people there, not to mention the clueless Home Depot people.
Ubetuwrasse: I went to the website and it doesn't seem to give a clue as to cost. The shipping is always the cost problem, unless you are a lucky person with a Home Depot that has it. How do you know it is the same sand? I couldn't find that one the website either. <img src="graemlins//confused.gif" border="0" alt="[confused]" /> <img src="graemlins//confused.gif" border="0" alt="[confused]" /> <img src="graemlins//confused.gif" border="0" alt="[confused]" />

I probably posted this on the other thread, but I talked to the guy at the Gilbert store tonight and they don't have it but he is checking with his buying area tomorrow to see if they can order it in there. I'll let you know if I find out before you or you can let me know if you find out. They do have a brand that is white with the red and blue writing but it does not say it is silica free.
