if i got a tank that was 50 gallons and it had a contianed filter how muhc living area for fish might that take up

In some acrylic tanks, the wetdry and additional chambers are built into the back. This is a very difficult question to really answer with more than "it would take up space." You could look at the tank, take measurements of the exact width of the filter, determine the total volume of the filter area, and subtract that from the tank size. So that isn't something we can easily do :yes:

yeha no one locally sells it and it 's alot easier not to mention cheaper to buy direct but ir eally want to know how much soace that thing takes up cause it may limit my fish keeping abilities

well we dont really know right now because you need LR which takes up room and we have no idea how much you are going to purchase
