Let first tell you a little about our set up. We have a 90gal with 135lbs LR & 100lbs LS it has been running for almost 3 mos now.
Our Spahetti coral which was a beautiful cream color with serveral (15) branches is starting to turn l white after 2 weeks in the tank. The coral looks like it is dying and was advised to do a 20min Iodine dip (1/2 gal H2o from the tank with 25 drops) and then place it back in the tank.
Has anyone ever done this and does it work?

The iodine dip is a common precaution, if you did it right you should be OK as far as that goes...
What is your lighting??

An iodine dip is a common practice that will not hurt corals if =done properly. However I am concerned about how you did it. I have never used the iodine supplement, instead I use Kent's teck-D anyway, it says in big bold letters not to leave it longer than 7 minutes... I think 20 minutes may be to long.

For mine the ingredients are...
DI water, iodine, potassium iodide, and some other stuff...
says add 1 teaspoon per quart of tank water, leave for 6 or 7 minutes, then in bold print it says , do not exceed 7 minutes!
I dip all of my corals in it and I have never had brown jelly or any other infectios diseases that I know of... But before you do all that, what kinda lighting do you have??

Tizzo, we have 2-250 MH lights for the tank
We use Luga's Iodine and the fish store recommended 20 min. We are going to see if it works and hope that the little guy comes back...
We were told to dip all out coral for 20 min when we buy them and then place them in the tank...
