Hi! Last month I asked you to ID a little tiny creature, all pinky hairy, that you identified as a spaghetti worm. And you calmed me down that they were very beneficial (thank you). Today I noticed a thick pink hairy thing with 2 eyes that I could not identify. My husband thought it was a new baby shrimp (it was that thick). But i knew that I had nobody who could deliver one :
, so I asked him to dig this thing out. He did.... and it was a very thick 10 inches long pink worm, all hairy. (that thing was its head)
Very gross!!! What is it? Is it an adult spaghetti worm? But even if it is beneficial it is too much for me to handle. Can I get rid of it? I am pretty sure I have more...
Thank you so much for your help!
Lana.

Thanks a lot!!! This thread for hitchikers identification is a very great idea! I ID my worm as a HUGE hair worm. So, what do I do now? It is written there that they can become abundant. There was a poblem with my tank. An outburst of copper. So, all my cleaning crew died. It took a while to figure out a problem and to bring water to a normal condition. I think that is the reason why they appeared. Now I bought a new crew, but it is not helping so far. Anybody knows anything how to get rid of them?
Thank you.
Lana.

nah they won't be that big in a year. My tank is 2 years old and I don't have any over 6 inches long. There was a person on here with a500 gal reef that pulled a 6.5 foot long one out of his closed loop system. Do your research on bristleworms. That's probably what it is, but it'd be better to find out first.

I am still trying. I was able to e-mail it to my other e-mail. Why I can not attach it here. Is there a trick?
