no offense deep sea... but you're relativly new to these forums, so i'd guess you're relativly new to SW. and i think you're starting off way over your head, but who am i to stop, do it and tell me if it works :joy:

the tank is a 125 long it is 8 feet instead of the normal 6 foot I have been keeping butterflys for years so it will be no problem very mature tank been up and running for years. Yes I am new to this forum but not the hobby been keeping saltwater fish for 15 years I will try to get my son to take pictures I would love to show you...soon I hope.

I'm not convinced but if you can pull it off then more power to ya.
I'd like to caution anyone else that for most hobbiests this would be an futile excercise and it would be a lot of work just pulling out and replacing dead fish every week.
I do wish you luck though.

I take it you must have had bad experiences with butterflys....The secret is good water quality...no EXCELLENT water quality and diet. Most of all stress plays a big part in keeping these fish butterflys are very sensitive to stress if you manage that you should have success..like I said I have been keeping fish for over 15 years I would not recommend butterflys for the inexperienced hobbyist. your right about that........

Actually, I have no experience with Butterflyfish. Over the past 27 years I mostly only keep the bulletproof fish that I know I will have success with.
However, I do have a lot of experience fixing the problems of people that severly overstock their tanks. I've adopted quite a few fish that way. I've never had the opportunity to adopt a Butterfly because they seem to be the first to go when there's a problem and they're dead by the time I get there.
It does sound like you have the experience to cover that, I just didn't want everyone thinking that your idea was easy to achieve. Do you have a few different tanks set up? How many and what types? Perhaps you'd be a good resource for Butterflyfish questions?

..I have 3 125 gallon tanks the buttefly tank then I have a mixed 125 with the standard tangs, angels, foxface, clowns, anthias, ect ect and lastly I have the lion tank with 3 black volitins ......
90 gal cichlid tank
75 gal freshwater tank
55 "quiet tank" pajama cardinals, firefish, gobies, chromis @ other peaceful fish
PLEASE!!!! let me say again I do not recomend
people try these fish if they dont have much experience with them...or they will fail.....
I would love to help hobbyst out whenever I can if time permitting I still work 1/2 time
