Alright so what is the real deal. I have a Coralife basic hydrometer and my SG always is dab smack in da middle at 1.022 or so and all is great. But I really want to know what am I doing either positive or negative by going slightly or significantly out of those parameters? Its great I guess that I keep it in the middle but I am not learning anything.
It seems everyone has there opionions on best specific point for the health of their tank but scientifically what is the real deal? Does algea growth promote or decline either way, do nutrients break down or build up either way, do fish act more excitable or lazier either way :happyfish, really like to know the scientific side of how the SG effects the overall tank.
Any good learning points from the experienced reefers????
