Speed of water in sump?

I dunno an exact answer, but for my reefs, I've always ran between 3-5 times tank capacity/hr thru the sump. On the 475, there's seperate sump & fuge, and I only run 1 tank or less cap/hr thru the fuge. On my 125, the sump&fuge were combined and I ran the original figure thru it.

yup. Unless your trying to create a benthic zone, for tunicates and other microfilter organisms, then you want really slow flow and dark.
