SPider Decorator Crab!!

Love this guy, he does all my fragging for me. Pulls small pieces off and sticks them on his back, then when he finds something he likes better removes something and puts the new item on. Just gotta catch him when he removes the old, and stick it on some rock work. He has almost doubled my coverage of Green stary pol. and a couple other sponges and pol. I have. Pictures to come.
Anyone else have once and any good stories.

how big of a tank do you have to have for 1?

This one is in my 55, he is maxed out in size and is about three inches in normal "stance." He isn't very active durring the day and just chills on some rock work or the sand bed as is basically live rock
At night is when he starts to get up and move around. Mine usually starts slowly moving after just my antis have been on for an hour then once those go off and just the Moon lights are on he is very active walking around like a normal hermit crab would. Not to fun to watch in action , but very fun to play Where is Waldo

"Edward" and I have a love - hate relationship, everytime I get a new coral he frags it!! So if you decide to get one make sure your ready to have everything fragged!!!

I just whish they were not so shy durring the day thats my only complaint!

Hermit? Thats nice because Hermits usually stay out from under rocks and are usually in the light source. WIth the crab, mine anyways, he likes to hide durring the day and stays our of direct light, thus alot of the things he collects dont do to well, but for the most part the come out durring the day.

I love my decorator crab....he only comes out at night when my moonlights are on.... everyone loves to watch him move around...hehe looks like a big old spider... But yeah...he frag's everything in my tank...which is fine...i have a 125 reef....and a crap ton of polyps ...etc... so he can go to town and really do nothing to my tank.... but boy he sure helps fill the thing out!...
but yeah...gotta love the kings of camo!

Mine is out all the time, I didnt realize that most of them hide until dark.

Sometimes he frags and it ruins my scene thats the only time I get p.o'd
