Spider Web looking stuff

I have a few turbo snails and one of them looks like it has another snail on its back. It has been getting larger for the past two months. In fact you can see something small inside the top of the shell that is alive. It has a small opening and there is spider web looking stuff that follows along with the snail.
Today I moved a LR and a ton of this web stuff went flying through my tank. Most of it has gone into the filter but I am worried that something is wrong. Everything seems to be healthy but this is a concern.
Anyone ever see this before.
Thanks.

WELCOME to the board. It is probably a vermitid snail. It spits out a web that snags food from the water, then "reels" it's catch back in to eat. Another question, do you have some kind of wrasse in your tank? It will spin a cocoon out of webbing when it sleeps.

No wrasse in the tank. But I also moved a feather duster at the sametime and the web looks to be around it as well. But, the power heads migh have blown it onto it. So if it is the snail what should I do with it. Will it hurt the coral or fish?

It wont hurt a thing. I've got some in mine. But I am curious as to your saying you had a ton of webs.

well when I moved that rock and feather duster my entire tank filled up with that web stuff. I grabbed my net and got a lot of it out. The filter got the rest. I still have a little that is still suck to other things but it was floating all over my tank. I mean a lot. Probally about 500 strands.

I'm 90% sure it's the feather duster. Mine gives off strands from time to time. Not sure what causes it:notsure: but it's very healthy and full.
