spiking nitrates

any recomindations and filter media to help control this
i did a 25% water change on sunday and there right back up getting a little frustrated
trites and ammo are at 0

What type of substrate do you have(sand, crushed coral...)? Are you possibly overfeeding or overpopulated?

dont think im over feeding i give small pinches watch them eat it then another small pinch
i have 72 gal tank

whats a dsb,, i am going to build a fuge/sump i am starting to cure some sand and rock in a 10 gal tank i have other post on an idea for the pumps
currently using CC in the tank

DSB= Deep Sand Bed.
Nitrates will not take care of them self, we have to. Running a good skimmer will help a bunch... along with a means of export like a refuge with algae and a good water change habit.

i know it has to cycle first
would using my fluval as the pick up from the sump then run through the canister then return to the tank, .
the feed line from the tank should gravity feed with suction from the pump side of the canister
do you think this would work ok

I'm not sure what you mean exactly but use a overflow in the tank to feed the sump... if not, problems are imminent.
