Spiny Blue Lobster?

Heheh I was doing this weeks perusal of the U Build it section and found this "little" guy. The name and the pics of this guy are the same as a Spiny Blue Lobster at my local aquarium. The decription of this thing says small little lobster. The one at my aquarium is like 2 feet long with multiple spines of the same length. My guess would be at least a 300 gallon tank to have one of these guys long term. I think if I moved out all the LR in my 65 I might be able to fit it in but it wouldnt be able to move at all. They also like to wander. Super cool looking critters but yet another that isnt meant for most of us to have.

You'll never see it with LR. They love to hide, and come out at night. Maybe. So I hear.

I know what its like not being able to have what you want due to tank capacity is like! It sucks.

If you want a lobster get a purple lobster.

I just bought a purple lobster from one on my LFS, and it is not shy at all!! He hangs out at the front of his cave and also wanders all over the tank. Hasnt done anything except run my fuzzy dwarf lionfish out of the rockwork.

Personally I think either of the lobsters would be like a bull in a china shop...in anything less than maybe a 240 gal display they'd probably cause more problems than they are worth. Very kewl creatures but I think I'll stay away from them until I have more than enough space for them to do their thing...
